Sony Computer Entertainment America has confirmed that it has shipped all of its remaining 60GB PS3s to retail, but confirmed that “ample” supply is still available for purchase.
"We no longer have any inventory in SCEA warehouses. All inventory has been purchased and shipped to retailers," said SCEA spokesperson David Karraker, in a recent email.
"We don't have visibility as to if that is on their store shelves or in their warehouses at this time. However, based on inventory reports from our retailers, there is ample supply still left in the channel."
As revealed last month, the 60GB version will be phased out once stock at retail has been depleted, leaving only the 80GB console, which retails for USD 599 and comes with a copy of MotorStorm
