Faceless Prijanto takes off his hat

Fauzi Bowo's running mate Prijanto jokingly announced a fashion change Wednesday, acknowledging he was not a widely recognized figure in Jakarta.
"So how about if I take off my peci (rimless cap)? I'd expect Jakartans would recognize my head -- my bald head -- better if we ran into each other in shopping malls," he said while campaigning at Cilandak Youth Sports Hall in South Jakarta on Wednesday.
The retired Army general has so far always appeared wearing a peci during the campaign, including on banners and posters.
He arrived late at the sports hall after attending similar campaigns in Tebet and Mampang Prapatan earlier in the day.
About 2,000 people had gathered in the sports hall from 1 p.m., enjoying music and Betawi comedy performances.
In his 15-minutes speech, Prijanto said he and Fauzi had prepared "simple but thorough" programs to develop the city.
