Nintendo Co.'s Wii home video game system took back the No. 1 sales position from Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 at Amazon.com in a restock that helped spur sales at the online retailer.
Wii, which returned to unavailability shortly after a Fri. restock, ranks as the top-selling product at Amazon's Computer & Video Games division. The Xbox 360 ranks at No. 5, while Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 took the No. 6 rank on Sat.
The Xbox 360 reached the No. 1 sales rank on Thurs. evening following a price cut that reduced the Premium SKU by $50.
Microsoft this week price cut all Xbox 360 models by $20 to $50. Additionally, new Premium models now include an HDMI out, an option previously available only on the Elite SKU.
Wii is the top-selling home console in the U.S., moving more than 381,000 units in the month of June. It has sold more than 2.4 million units in the U.S. to date.
