MTV Games, Harmonix and EA have put and end to widespread speculation by confirming that the European rollout of 'Rock Band' has been pushed back into early 2008.
The news came along with the surprise announcement that there will also be a version of the game released for the PS2.
Featuring many of the modes found in the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, the PlayStation 2 version will also introduce new elements exclusive to the format. Additionally, European versions of 'Rock Band' will feature extensively localised content for multiple territories, both on-disc and via download.
MTV Games also used Leipzig to reveal a further 10 new tracks, bringing the total on-disc to 26. The new songs, all original master recordings, are as follows:
Rolling Stones 'Gimme Shelter'
Deep Purple 'Highway Star'
The Clash 'Should I Stay or Should I Go'
Faith No More 'Epic'
Smashing Pumpkins 'Cherub Rock'
Radiohead 'Creep'
Beastie Boys 'Sabotage'
Jet 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl'
OK Go 'Here It Goes Again'
Nine Inch Nails 'The Hand That Feeds'
