Acer announced today that the Aspire series will make its NA debut with the 5920 and 4710. The 5920 is touted as a multimedia ‘powerhouse’, which is largely due to the Empowering Technology coupled with the Acer Arcade software suite. The HD DVD notebook has a bright 15.4-inch wide display thanks to CrystalBrite, which is marketing jargon for optimal brightness in all lighting conditions. Playing along with the HD trend of the laptop is Dolby Home Theater Virtual Surround Sound.
The 4710 is a smaller entertainment notebook powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo mobile processor. The 14.1-inch notebook has a Dolby-certified surround sound system with S/PDIF support, which equates to decent video playback and multimedia performance as well as a CrystalEye webcam.
The 5920 comes with Windows Vista Home Premium or Ultimate, while the 4710 is preloaded with Vista Home Premium. Pricing starts at $1,999 for the 5920 and the 4170 begins at $599.
