Neyland Stadium is going smokelessA smoking ban will take effect this fall at the University of Tennessee's 102,000-seat Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn., the third-largest college football venue in the country.
"You can still have smokeless tobacco," UT athletics spokeswoman Tiffany Carpenter said. "You just can't light anything up. No cigars, no cigarettes, no pipes."
The smoking ban comes as the result of a state law extinguishing most workplace smoking in Tennessee. The law, which takes effect this month but won't be enforced until October, applies to most businesses, including restaurants.
Arcain says goodbye to basketball Janeth Arcain's last game at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro marked the end of an era in Brazilian basketball.
Arcain, who helped the Comets win four straight titles during her stay from 1997-2004, completed a 21-year career with the Brazilian national team when the squad lost 79-66 on Tuesday to the United States in the final.
"It's sad to leave with the silver instead of the gold," Arcain said. "But this doesn't erase all the good memories I've had in the sport."
